8 Chants Make All-SELC Teams

In another season of firsts, the Coastal Carolina Men's Club Lacrosse team placed 8 team members on the All-SELC teams. The 8 were led by Sophomore Attackman Nick Aquino who anchored the Chanticleer offense all season with 39 points (27G, 12A) and secured a Second Team nod. A pair of Aquino's classmates, Zach Lytle and Alec Mastroine found their way on too the All-SELC Third team. Lytle, a midyear close defense transfer for Division II University of Indianapolis, made an instant impact on the Chanticleer defense with his tenacious on-ball defense and ability to get the ball out in transition. Mastroine tallied 12 points (8G, 4A) on the season with his best showing of 4 goals in the region clinching win over rival College of Charleston.

The remaining 5 Chants all made the Honorable Mention All-SELC team, Senior teammates August Schoenfelder (Goal), Sam Wheatley (LSM), Junior Mike Barressi (SSDM), and Freshmen Nick Maldari (Attack) and Mike Hilland (FO). "The diversity of not only the positions but the classes speaks volumes about the 2017 Chants" said Head Coach Bradley Dunn, "You can't help but be excited for the future of this program!"

The Chants will use this year of firsts as a spring board into the 2017-2018 season. Fall practices will begin shortly after the start of the semester in late August with a new flock of Chants looking to build on what this years team has built!
